Unspoken Truths’ is a 17 minute film that documents a unique collaborative arts project between the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), the Lourdes Youth and Community Services project Sean McDermott Street in Dublin’s north inner city and the Family Resource Centre St Michael’s Estate Inchicore, Dublin. The project brought together 32 women from the two community projects with artist Ailbhe Murphy and the Education and Community Department of IMMA. The starting point for this two year arts project was to bring the women together to explore their creative potential both individually and collectively. The resulting exhibition ‘Unspoken Truths’ presents fourteen artworks that relate to stories from the women’s lives. The film includes interviews with all the main participants and actuality from the exhibition in the Museum of Modern Art.
